Every day from now until Spring, I will play a song from each year from 1940-2020. I’ll also write a little bit about the song and why I chose it to represent that year.
1954 was the last year before Rock n Roll officially took over. Although I actually think “Sha-boom” might qualify as a good link, It has the tin pan alley pop of the early 50’s and the R&B infused style of the later part of the decade. But starting tomorrow everything picks up musically and doesn’t really stop until today.
