1955 was the year everything changed when “Rock around the clock” became the first Rock and Roll song to hit number one on the Billboard charts. The song while tame by today’s standards was so explosive it often created riots when it was played. Most people know the song but have forgotten the movie that featured it. For the most part, the movie is forgettable except for the fact that it featured a very young Sydney Poitier in one of his first movie roles. But the song overshadowed everything.
