Saint Paul, Minnesota honors one of their favorite sons, “Peanuts” creator Charles Schultz with a sculpture garden of some of his most beloved characters.
Charles Schultz was born in Minneapolis in 1922 but grew up in Saint Paul. After serving in the second world war, he began a career as an Art instructor but also drew as a side project. He created several different comic strips but phased the others out, after he was able to sell ‘Peanuts”.
Although Schultz moved to California after the success of “Peanuts” his hometown has not forgotten him. You can see these statues at Landmark Plaza in downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota. The downtown area is very pedestrian friendly with several parks and some very nice old fashioned diners. It is most certainly worth a visit.
