Every day from now until Spring, I will play a song from each year from 1940-2020. I’ll also write a little bit about the song and why I chose it to represent that year.

Welcome to the halfway marker. Forty more years (days) to go. Not to mention the ’80s is probably my favorite decade musically and personally. I accomplished a lot of life achievements between 1980 and 1989. I fell in love for the first time, got my heart broken (thankfully, not by the same girl), graduated from high school and college, and visited 17 new countries on three continents all to a great musical soundtrack.

Since today is Valentine’s Day, I’d figure I would select a love song from 1980. This song reminds of my former crush and current friend for life Cindy. I had such a profound crush on her. It was never returned, but today we are still very close. I call her “Sissy” and she calls me “Brother”. I’m very blessed to be on good terms with all my former flames. (Well, with one notable exception) But mostly all good.

Dan Fogelberg was a great singer-songwriter.  I have many of his albums. May he rest in peace.
