Every day from now until Spring, I will play a song from each year from 1940-2020. I’ll also write a little bit about the song and why I chose it to represent that year.
Paul McCartney said the most influential performer in his life was Buddy Holly. He even said “The Beatles” was an homage to Holly’s band “The Crickets”. Holly was one of the only singer-songwriters of his day. And while his career only lasted two short years, to this day he is considered one of the greatest performers of all time.
Can’t overestimate buddy’s importantance!
