Every day from now until Spring, I will play a song from each year from 1940-2020. I’ll also write a little bit about the song and why I chose it to represent that year.
One of the finest voices ever recorded in my opinion. He had the elusive ability to open his heart and let the music just flow. His voice is evocative and conveys such warmth. He made you feel like he was singing just to you. (Karen Carpenter also had that gift).
I think the song is about someone who is beautiful but despite this can’t seem to open their heart. I think I often come across aloof. I don’t mean to be cold, it’s just that I am so socially awkward sometimes. Every song of NKC is great but my favorite is probably “Smile” a song written by Charlie Chaplin.I hope you are enjoying this music countdown. I know I’m having fun doing it.
