The third annual Day of the Dead celebration was held Sunday November 4th at Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The celebration included Mexican Music, Dancing, Crafts and delicious food. One of the things I especially enjoyed about the festivities is the Museum did a good job of not only hosting but bringing in educators to help explain the significance of the day in Mexican Culture.

Many people came in makeup and costumes and there were several traditional Mexican bands who performed. Also, some beautiful traditional artwork was on display.

Given the immense popularity of the celebration, this is sure to become a yearly tradition.
