I wrote this poem a few years ago in August. It had been a scorcher all day. That evening we had a freak rainstorm (it hadn’t been forecast). I got out of my apartment and stood in rain. The raindrops felt so cool on my hot skin. I came back into the house and wrote this poem.
“Water”
Water falling
Water drown me.
Rain forgiveness all around me
She cries tears, tears of holy water for me.
Blue dye fancy, Dolphins dancing,
Salt in the air, when you are there
She brings an ocean, of life and rebirth to me.
Broiling black night, not a friend in sight.
But she shows me she loves me, so I know I’m alright.
And she releases my pain, in the aforementioned rain.
When she cries her tears, tears of holy water for me.
