Oh, the places you will go..Exploring The Dr. Suess Sculpture Park

Located in Springfield, Massachusetts the Dr. Seuss sculpture garden and museum honors their most famous resident. Born Theodor Seuss Geisel in 1904 he became world renown as an author and animator of a wide-ranging series of children’s books.  Such characters as the Lorax, Horton, the Grinch and his most famous creation the cat in the hat have come to life through his books.  These characters are all presented in a sculpture garden honoring the author. There is also a very nice museum honoring Dr. Seuss and featuring several interactive displays specially designed for children. You can also see where a lot of Seuss’ drawings and an office area where he often worked on his projects.

The garden is part of a larger Suess exhibit. The Garden is fairly small but the statues are well made.

The museum and sculpture garden are part of a five-museum complex that also features science, art and history museums. they are sold as one ticket, The admission prices are 25$ adults and 13$ for children.  If you just want to see the sculpture park it is free. If you are a fan of Dr. Seuss it may well be worth admission to see the museum since this one of a kind experience.
