Every day from now until Spring, I will play a song from each year from 1940-2020. I’ll also write a little bit about the song and why I chose it to represent that year.
I am sadly a former smoker. Not sad that I used to smoke but sad I ever started. I picked up the habit in college everyone in the dorm smoked and the nicotine seemed to calm my nerves. Plus for me, it was a way to be social. I pretty introverted and it made me feel like I was part of the gang. I smoked about a pack a day from the mid-1980s by the ’90s and 2000s I only smoked when I was out drinking (which was fairly often back then).
But I’m proud to say I haven’t had a cigarette since 2010. I don’t even crave it anymore. I rarely drink anymore but if I did and I was with a lot of people who were partaking I am sure I would crave a smoke. (hopefully, I wouldn’t cave). I don’t miss the hacking and bronchitis I seemed to get every six months. How about you? Do you smoke now or did you in the past? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
