He wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. He was brash, outspoken and came across as very stereotypically “New York”. But I admired his writing talent very much. And I especially enjoyed his shows “No Reservations” and “Parts Unknown”. He went places most travelers wouldn’t think of going and brought people together over a meal.

  1. I used to watch his shows. Yes, he was a typical New Yorker. I couldn’t believe it when I heard he killed himself. Very sad. We just never know what is going on in someone’s mind. We might think they have it all but you just never know. Same thing with Kate Spade. I have a bag of hers that I love. May they both find peace from their demons.

    1. It reminds us thta we should all be mindful of are interactions with others. each person has secret hurts. A kind word, thought or action could be the difference between hope and despair

  2. To me, he had the ideal life. I guess many times the struggle brings more joy than finally getting the prize. It reminds me to enjoy this part of my quest to be a blogger. I am! …… I am enjoying the challenges and the victories within the struggle.
