I’ll let you in on the world’s worst kept secret…. I don’t know what I’m doing. Not a clue. I don’t know how to set up a blog page. How to post pictures or set up text. Heck, ask Jane she’ll tell you I can barely type. BUT..This is what I do know. I love to write, and I REALLY love to travel. I figure doing a blog could be the perfect marriage of the two. And like most marriages they tend to get a little shaky without good communication. ( Well, that and money but honestly, I am not expecting to get rich doing this, but if it can help me fund my trips and be able to share them with you lovely people then it’s good enough for me) So, back to communication. I need it! I need it from you. Talk with me, let’s build something really amazing together. Don’t worry about the technical stuff, I’ll learn it eventually. Let’s talk travel, Where have you been? where do you want to go? And what’s holding you back from doing it? We could have a great partnership you and I.
I am a “senior citizen” (old enough for Medicare!) although I’m not a grandparent. But that’s a whole other story, lol! I do love to travel and to write, like you. I’m not very “techie” either, but I like the way my blog looks right now, minus all the fancy stuff. I found your blog following a link because you “liked” one of my posts. I usually follow travel bloggers, but didn’t see a follow button on your site. I’ve traveled a decent amount, but not enough as many people, and definitely want to travel more! Since I retired, that has been my main goal. My husband and I just got back from a trip to Tanzania, preceded by 4 days in Amsterdam. It was our first trip to Africa! We have been on 4 cruises, but don’t want to cruise all the time. We’re planning a road trip this summer on Route 66 from Chicago to L.A. In December, we are going to Egypt with one tour group, then hook up with another group in Israel. There’s a good chance we’ll be in France next summer for a “family reunion.” If so, I’d like to take a river cruise, which I’ve never done before, although part of the Egypt trip includes a 5-day cruise on the Nile.
When I return from a trip, I eventually get around to blogging about it, so you can read about my trips to Spain, Peru, Brazil, Alaska, Baltic Cruise, Panama Canal Cruise, Canadian cruise, and I’m currently working on Amsterdam and Tanzania.
Do you travel by yourself? I have never done this, I always drag my husband along, lol! I have been enjoying your “advice” travel posts.
Hey there Amoralegria . Don’t tell anyone but I’m not a grandparent either. (Not yet at least) But i really want my blog to be a niche for older people like myself. there are a lot of blogs by people in their 20’s and 30’s. I read and enjoy many of them, but i think the world needs to hear our voice as well. I have several people who are following me so there’s a follow button somewhere. I’ll point it out if I can find it. Would love to have you follow. I’ll follow your post as well.Will definitely like to see the pictures of Tanzania, and your trips on Route 66 and the middle east sound like fun too.I usually travel solo. Not so much by choice as it is no one in the family likes to travel that much. In fact, a future post i am working on is the pros and cons of solo travel vs group. i think both are good. Does your husband like to travel as well? You’re lucky to have someone to share your adventures with. i like the informative posts best myself but they are usually pretty research intentsive (which i don’t mind) but do to working a Ft job in the real world, i makes doing those pieces time consuming. I just put up a piece about Costa Rica and have an informative post on NYC freebies which should be up in a day or two. So glad to have you along. looking forward to reading your posts Darryl
Thank you for following my blog. Like you I learned by trial and error – I still make mistakes but I am getting better. Learning how to do new things is supposed to help keep our brains ‘plastic’.
